Commando

The dust cover on the rear master cylinder keeps being damaged by the kickstart pinch bolt head. I've replaced this several times, but now wonder if there are any tips on how to prevent this. Perhaps an alternative dust cover has been found to work, or changing the pinch bolt from a hexagon head to a button head Allen bolt. Any ideas welcome.

Have had a couple of NJ306EXLM1A for a while but wondering if they are normal  clearance or c3 thanks

Dear all, I would appreciate some guidance with this one. It's not very easy to see from the attached photo but I can't turn the welded adjuster nut because it fouls the big axle washer. The adjusters are after market stainless steel items. I would have thought that with everything slackened off I should be able to fine tune the chain tension in the normal straightforward way. We're all familiar with the two recommended torques for tightening Commando cylinder head bolts. And it's always possible to hear that there are still leaks here and there.

What if there was a third one just like the one in the attached file? What do you all think about it?

 

Hi 750 Mkv Interstate with LED Headlight, everything world fine as it should , bake lights indicators , main beam , dip beam warning lights however if the headlamp is on and I push the headlamp flash button the fuse blows this happens when the bike is running and when it it stopped engine not running has anyone experienced this , I have put the standard bulb back in and the fuse does not blow as LED consumes less power this is confusing me

Hello!  With the sump plug out and a new sump reed valve in hand I'm excited for the next chapter.  Jim from JS Motorsports has been great.  But to do this right I need access to the top of my oil tank which is hampered by the ignition panel.  I thought it would be straightforward to remove, and I found a bolt with a spacer under the seat.  I can move the panel, but it's not coming out.  I had a word with my impatient side about using force to solve this and came back here. Does something need to be detached on the other side to pull this out?  On the right side of the ignition case there are

Looking to replace old Avon Roadriders 90/90V19 and 100/90V19  on an 850 MKIII Metzler RoadTec 01 do they same sizing. I'm more interested in grip than tyre life, do they stick better than the Avons? Cheers, Richard

With a Commando ,you get used to vibration issues, issolastics or not. I find that you go round the bike on a regular basis tightening up Jubilee  clips. What i have never done is the clips securing the hose to the Filter pipes, these now seem to be weeping . On inspection the slots are facing the back of the gearbox, with about an inch of gap.

Hi Guys, I've had this problem for 3 years now....and done nothing about it...ahem...Gearbox works well, in 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th but when I change into 5th...I clearly engage another gear, but absolutely nothing happens, in that the revs don't drop at all, I get 105 ish in 4th and exactly the same in 5th, any ideas?

I've just noticed a steady drip of oil from the kickstarter spindle. Is it an easy matter of removing the 5 cover bolts, heating the outer case until the bush drops out, replacing o-ring with new x-ring, pushing the bush back in (is a new one required/advised), and bolting up with new gasket? If so, then I can probably handle that... But any tips appreciated
